Ophthalmologists can diagnose a variety of diseases and strive to find a treatment plan that works for you. If you need eye surgery for any reason, it will also be an ophthalmologist who performs the surgery.
Consider the following questions when meeting with an ophthalmologist:
What should I know about surgery?
If you are considering surgery, you can ask our ophthalmologists and their teams any questions about expectations before, during and after your surgery to help make you feel comfortable and make the process run smoothly.
What new technology options are there?
Our ophthalmologists stay on top of advancements in technology that can better serve our patients.
What can I be doing to help maintain good vision?
Whether you are being evaluated for surgery or are being seen for the ongoing treatment of a condition, be sure to ask our doctors what you can do to maintain good vision, whether that be lifestyle adjustments, medication or a more strategic treatment plan.

Liz Durnan1 StarIf you want to pay more than you need to, go to this place. Dr Roper is fine but billing department ran by incompetent people. I had 2 different issues with 2 different insurance. When it comes to contact lens fitting, the billing department will automatically says "its not covered by your insurance". If you attempt to resolve it, it's like pulling teeth. I have reported this to BBB and they claimed they did the best they can. Yet insurance ended up paying me back on one of the issues because they can't even deal with Southwestern Eye center billing department. This place has lost my business forever, not because of the Dr but because the stupid billing people who just don't put effort to research ppl insurance. So long Southwestern you have lost all my family and my relatives. I still have one more claim to be resolved but my lawyer is on stand if it goes to collection. Also this place has security breached recently. I mean if billing department is incapable of doing their job, security breach will continue to happen.Wednesday 17th April 2024
Melissa Beran Samuelson1 StarMy experience with the doctor and office staff has been very positive, but I would strongly recommend to avoid this practice due to issues in their billing department. I have issues with being billed for covered services and, at the same time, having insurance billed for services I've already paid for, limiting my ability to use my vision benefits. Attempting to resolve billing issues has taken several weeks AND in the 4 annual exams I have had with them, the same issues have occurred 3 times. Insurance has been involved in attempting to resolve the issue, but all we hear is that they will get to it, but don't know when. Since it's the 3rd time this has happened and it's been over 6 weeks since I first spoke to them about correcting my most recent bill, I would encourage anyone who goes here to review their billing statements very carefully. No one should have to put up with this and the fact it keeps happening is concerning as they seem to be double-dipping by having insurance pay for services I've already paid for.Thursday 14th March 2024
Erin Kirkpatrick1 StarThis review is only for the optical department, the rest of the office seems to function well and my family has been well cared for medically, but I would highly recommend NOT ordering your glasses here. We have only done so twice and both times it has been a disaster. There is no communication, documentation, or follow-up. The first time they did not actually have the frame we selected available but did not bother to tell us that for almost two weeks. They have no virtual of evening options try on options and make you come to the office for every little mistake, so we had to take off work to select a new pair, and then again when those came in almost 3 weeks later. We insured them (since they were for my daughter) and sure enough our puppy got to them so I ordered a replacement. Turns out the optician only ordered the frames, not the lenses even though I had asked for a full replacement. So now we are on week 4 of waiting with no communication. When he is out of the office there is absolutely no one who can look up orders or communicate information, either, and since he does not return calls we are literally in the dark about when my daughter will be able to see again…not worth the hassle. Zenni or Warby Parker all the way from now on!Thursday 14th March 2024
Congo Beat1 StarWasn’t overly impressed with the front desk staff, but on my mothers follow up appointment, we had car trouble and NO WAY of being able to notify them. Tried calling 6 times each on our phones, no vm, no option to get thru. We were able to put in our # for a call back, but in the past 20 years as an adult, I’ve only ever come upon 1 Dr office that has ever actually called me back, and they aren’t them. We’ll see if they call back, but if they want to charge people for not showing up to appointments, they need to be accessible by VM at least. At this point, we don’t even want to continue with them. They are clearly either too big to function or just don’t care.
Yep! We finally got a call back and they are just too busy is what they said. So they clearly don’t need our business. Something to keep in mind. When a company confirms that they are too busy to provide basic customer service, the last thing they need is more customers, in our opinion. We’ll go elsewhere. There are plenty of other offices in the area.Monday 8th January 2024
Sam1 StarThe eye exam and prescribed glasses were fine. But when I went back to ask for my pupil distance (to order another pair of glasses online, the man at the glasses section (left side when you enter the office) gave me wrong numbers. I am not sure whether it was on purpose! I understand they want you to buy glasses on site, not online. But giving me a wrong number seems not a decent way.Friday 23rd February 2024
