Dr. Kelsey Roumfort

Dr. Simon Zmyslinski (“Dr. Z”) grew up in Phoenix where he attended Sunnyslope High School. After receiving his Biochemistry degree from the University of Arizona, he went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry studies at SUNY State College of Optometry in New York. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Z has developed the Zmyslinski Eye & Contact Lens Center into a comprehensive optometric practice providing clinical care for conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, conjunctivitis, diabetes, and keratoconus.He has a special interest in fitting irregular corneas with custom contact lenses where traditional modalities have been unsuccessful. Dr. Zmyslinski is a current member of the American Optometric Association and Arizona Optometric Association. Zmyslinski Eye & Contact Lens Center partners with Lenscrafters to offer one of the largest and most fashion–forward optical lines in the greater Phoenix area. Dr. Z has been married to his wife Teresie for over 17 years and together they enjoy outdoor activities and traveling. Dr. Kelsey Roumfort completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. She obtained her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, graduating Cum Laude. Dr. Roumfort provides comprehensive eye care to diagnose and manage all ocular health issues. She enjoys fitting different types of contact lenses to meet all your visual needs and is eager to provide you with the highest quality and most innovative form of eye care.Dr. Roumfort moved to Arizona in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, working out, and indulging in all the great food Scottsdale has to offer! We welcome Dr. Shelley Richards to our Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe, AZ optometry team.Dr. Richards received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 2005, after having over 10 years of experience as an optometric technician. She interned in Hawaii, Jackson, CA as well as Kansas City and St. Louis, MO. Dr. Richards received her BA in Biology from the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO.Her expertise includes managing patients' primary eye care in addition to contact lens fittings and management of ocular diseases and inflammation. Dr. Elena Filatova is a medically oriented optometrist. She graduated from New England College of Optometry in 2011 and spend the first 5 years practicing optometry in NM and AZ concentrating on primary eye care, treatment, and management of ocular disease and co-management of surgical patients in an ophthalmology setting.Dr. Filatova is experienced in pre and post-care, evaluation, and co-management of refractive surgery patients such as LASIK and ICL. She also enjoys fitting CL and working with the pediatric population.Hobbies – traveling, hiking, camping, fishingLanguages: English, Russian Dr. Irene of Zmyslinski Eye & Contact Lens Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, grew up in Rochester, NY. At age 16, he had his first eye exam and was instantly drawn to the profession. Simultaneously, his first cousin became a contact lens sales rep for Bausch and Lomb and over the next few months talked to him in detail about a career as an Optometrist. His “fate” was now determined.Upon completion of high school, Dr.Irene attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Dr. Irene was accepted and attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Upon graduation in 1982, he moved to Denver, CO where he practiced for the next 9 yrs.An opportunity presented itself in 1991 to practice in the Phoenix area. Being tired of the severe weather in Denver, Dr. Irene moved his family to Phoenix late that year.Dr. Irene began his association with Lenscrafters in 1995 at Paradise Valley Mall. In 1997 he was given a second location at Arizona Mills Mall. In 2007 he sold the Paradise Valley Mall office and now directs his full attention to our Scottsdale location.Dr. Irene is a supporter of the “Gift of sight” program to bring eye care and glasses to those in need. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Central Arizona Optometric Society.When not seeing patients, Dr. Irene loves to stay in shape by hiking up “A” mountain. He is also an avid fisherman as the pictures on the waiting room wall show. His fondest wish is to see the Chicago Cubs win a world series.
