I have been going to Dr. Chung's office inside the Tempe Costco for glasses and contact lenses since 1999. Dr. Chung is such a wonderful and excellent eye doctor. I have astigmatism and soft toric contact lenses not only were expensive, they did not correct my astigmatism well. In 2005 Dr. Chung recommended that I try RGP lenses instead. She explained to me how the RGP lenses correct astigmatism without the messy toric thing. What a difference it made. Not only are they more comfortable to wear, better for eye health (gas permeable), better vision acuity, they are also a lot cheaper comparing to the soft toric lenses. And can last more than a year to boot. There is no more astigmatism issue bothering me. Most optometrists avoid doing RGP for their patients as RGP is not easy to fit and it takes a lot of time, effort and customization to achieve a good fit. Dr. Chung did it for me with my best interest in mind. In 2006 I moved to southern California. Initially I still came back to AZ to see Dr. Chung for eye exams. Eventually I settled with local doctors in California. Unfortunately I could not find anyone as good as Dr. Chung or as knowledgeable on RGP as she. All these years they mostly just copied Dr. Chung's old RGP prescription I brought and tweaked power. In 2022 I finally moved back to AZ from CA. The first thing I did was to check Tempe Costco optical department to see if Dr. Chung was still there. Lucky me, she was and she had built a team there. I immediately made an appointment. As she'd always done, she did a fantastic job doing my RGP fitting updating my prescription. She changed a few parameters along with the powers. The first time I put the final set of trial lenses on, I couldn't believe how comfortable they were and how clearly I was seeing things near and far. With my CA experience I know good optometrists are hard to find, not to mention an excellent one. Now I just hope she does not retire any time soon.

I have been going to Dr. Chung for about 5 years. She is extremely competent and professional. I think so highly of her that, since we moved to Scottsdale, I prefer to drive 25 miles one way to see her, rather someone closer.

Some years ago, Dr. Chung found small holes in my retina during a routine examination. I was able to see a specialist and have laser surgery to correct the problem, which could have led to retina detachment if untreated. I could not recommend Dr. Chung more highly.

The glasses don’t work, cannot see things clear when you wear it. The staff said we need to talk to the doctor, my husband was on the line, just 2 people in front of him, when was my husband turn, the reception ignored my husband........ nothing solve, have to make phone call and reschedule appointment. It was 4:45 PM, called twice no one picked up the phone. Will call tomorrow......🧐
