Lori D'Angelo5 StarDr. Heen and her staff are amazing. They go above and beyond to make their clients feel special. Dr. Heen spent extra time with me to find out exactly what was going on with my eyes. My contacts even arrived sooner than I expected. I was very impressed and will definitely be going back for years to come.Friday 17th May 2024
Wizard Master5 StarFantastic experience that was truly unexpected. On a quest to simply get my kids glasses, resulted in for some reason, having to visit different vision centers, only to once again leave empty handed. That was until we came to this center. We literally had just walked in from off the street, no appointment nor were we established patients. Still, we were immediately greeted by this very lovely receptionist who never hesitated once to help my children and I. Yet, it was Matthew Compeau, the practice manager, that was the absolute game changer. When was the last time a member of management provided stellar service, especially when they could just put it off on a Random employee? Well, not at this vision center and not with Matthew. He educated, and efficiently and effectively provided exactly what my kids needed so they finally can order their glasses. Will come back in the future.Thursday 21st March 2024
Mike P1 Star20/20 is calling me to schedule an appointment for an eye exam and that reminded me that I need to post a negative review that I should have posted in late 2023 based on my experience there.
The first time I went to 20/20 Vision at 307 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ was in 2021 when I got vision insurance thru my employer. At that time, I was wearing an old, outdated prescription pair of glasses that worked well since buying them in 2018. I bought a pair of black plastic framed glasses from 20/20 in 2021 and I was quite happy with them. One day in late 2022 I accidentally bumped my glasses off of my own face and as a result my glasses fell to the concrete floor and the plastic frame busted in one spot releasing one of the lenses. I didn't think much of that at the time. Stuff happens ya know. Duct tape was an easy temporary fix for the frame.
I made an appointment to get a new exam and glasses in late 2022. My eye prescription is very complex, I am not the normal/typical type person that gets reasonably cheap/affordable glasses. I spent over $1000 for my new primary pair of metal frame glasses (not buying plastic frames again for my primary glasses since the last pair broke) and I opted to get a pair of RayBan (plastic) prescription sunglasses also that were marketed at 50% off of retail. I have VSP insurance. I think the eye doctor did a great job determining my new prescription, and he showed me a sample of what I should see with my new prescription. What the doc shows you vs. what the lab delivers is 2 different things.
The lab they use seems to be trash. My plastic RayBan sunglasses are acceptable…. Not great. I think they could be better, but not bad overall. My new primary glasses have been a disaster since day 1. First off, the lab had to redo one of my lenses right away. The focal point was off. After they reworked the lens, things were still never right. I visited 20/20 vision several times thru out 2022 and they made adjustments to my glasses which helped but it never really solved the issue. Night driving was horrible. I went to a concert and all the stage lighting was “smeared”. Just really, really bad..
Just weeks before my 1-year warranty was to expire, the metal frame that I thought to be better than a plastic frame broke. All I did was adjust my glasses with my right hand near the hinge area. I did not drop them or abuse them. The frames they are selling seem to be trash also. I am in my 50s… I haven't broken a pair of glasses since I was a kid…. All of a sudden, I am breaking them now. Why?
Warranty Coverage:
20/20 vision did honor the one year warranty and provided me new pair of glasses, both frames and lenses. This time the lab finally got the prescription right. I can see!!! But… the lab missed something on both lenses. There is a “water mark” on each lens the says U 265. It is very faint, but it is there. Why is it there? Also, the new warranty frames are not new. What should be black metal frames have obvious paint and/or plating missing exposing a silver color. Why?
I will never go back to this place ever again. It is a disaster!!Monday 18th March 2024
Mandy McCluney1 StarEveryone that I saw & conversed with was wonderful except the eye doctor. She was rude & made it clear she did not like me. I don't care I'm paying for a service. Obviously I won't b back because I don't like her either.Monday 11th March 2024
